For the quality and craftsmanship, the price was worth it.It looks great. My nephew loved it. I would recommend it to a friend.Build Time: approximately 3 hours with two people.Tools Required: phillips screwdriver and an allen wrench. The allen wrench is provided, but it is slow and hard to use on some pieces. If you have an adjustable electric driver and some allen bits, you could probably reduce the build time to 2 or even 1.5 hours.Pros -[1] - Includes allen key[2] - Fairly easy to build with decent instructions[3] - Sturdy with good quality materials[4] - The wood stain was evenly spread, it covered the boards on all visible edges and I didn't notice any globs or thin spots. Better then more expensive furniture I have bought in the past.[5] - There are a decent number of slats, they are strapped together, and you screw them into the base. As long as your kid isn't using the bed as a trampoline, you probably don't need a base board. Please judge this based on your own kids rambunctiousness. I would also consider weight factor, a base board might be a good idea if multiple kids will be sleeping on the same bed.Cons -[1] - Absolutely no extra screws / bolts / nuts / etc. If you lose a piece, well... oops![2] - There were minor scrapes and blemishes through the stain, that were poorly covered up, but mostly in low visibility areas.[3] - There is no way to put the ladder on the other side of the bed, so be sure to check that it will fit in the room you want it in.[4] - The vertical cross-members on the top bedrails are screwed in, the placement on the boards were marked by tape, but we didn't realize why it was there, so it got peeled off prior to putting those pieces together. If this happens to you, there are tiny little holes where you are supposed to start the screws. In my opinion this was the hardest part of putting the bed together, as we put two of the three boards upside down at first. A simple, "this side up" sticker, would've been nice.[5] - Some of the holes had some leftover sawdust or putty left in them. This prevented some bolts from threading until we noticed the foreign substance blocking the threads. We quickly picked up on this and made sure to clear the holes with the bolt, prior to putting the pieces together.

Got this for my 6&3 year olds. The structure is great. It’s made out of wood. It’s pretty high as well. Im 5’4” and I have to stand on my very tippy toes to see over the top rail. It does hold a lot of weight as well. Myself and my husband were able to lay on each bed to test it out. It was easy to put together. I was able to build it completely by myself other than my husband helping me lift the top bed onto the posts. It took me about 4/5 hours to build this all together.PRO TIP!!! Use a drill when you are screwing the mattress slats into the bed. There are 16 or 18 individual screws that need to be screwed into each slat. Not including the 6 or 8 bolts you need to screw into a few slats with the allen wrench. You’re hands will thank you if you use a drill 😅

I purchased this bed with great hesitancy after reading several reviews on Amazon, Walmart, and other stores that sell these. First, they are priced way higher at Toys-R-Us, and about the same at Walmart. I got these for my 5 year old twin boys. I looked at a lot of different beds, but really wanted this one because of it's size and price. My sons' room has an unavoidable drop in the ceiling down to 7 feet - there is nowhere to place a bunk bed without the ceiling drop being involved somehow. This was the only one I think I could find that was 60inches - which is also good, because I am 62 inches, and I can decorate the bed more easily. I also purchased the Amazon recommended mattresses with this bed (Signature Sleep Essentials 8inch and 6inch).I decided I was going to completely re-do my sons' bedroom for their new 'big boy' room. I was so excited! I ordered the bunk bed on Friday January 30, 2015. I am a Prime member, and I know that the bed can take an extra few days for processing. I was patient. On February 2, I received an email saying the package had shipped, and would arrive by Friday February 6. Yay! I went and got all their new bedding, paint, wall decorations, some additional furniture pieces, and made arrangements for them to go to Grandma and Grandpa's on Friday the 6th for the weekend. I usually work Sundays, and I took the day off of work so I could have everything completed and ready for when my sons' got home Sunday night. I checked with Amazon throughout the week to make sure the bed was still arriving on Friday... according to Amazon, it was. The bedding arrived earlier in the week, the sheets, and the mattresses arrived on time too. Friday afternoon comes and I check Amazon - still on time for Friday delivery by 8pm. I check UPS, and there is no updated status other than 'in transit'. I check back with UPS around 4pm, and it says 'arrived at destination facility - out for delivery Monday February 9. Super irritated, I called UPS and said WTF. Can I come pick this up (UPS is 2 miles from my house). UPS says 'no, you can not pick up a package before it's scheduled delivery date'. I say ' It was suppose to be delivered today', they say 'Shipper did not give it to us until February 4'. I try to arrange for a Saturday delivery - not an option. Thoroughly frustrated, I used my unexpected free-time to go out and drink wine with my friends. I spent the entire day Saturday painting, and instead of setting up bunk beds in between coats of paint, I took a nap, shopped, and sulked about the fact that my surprise for my sons was ruined by UPS - or Storkcraft - or really, both. Sunday I put their room back together, set up their new mattresses on the floor with their new Spiderman and Batman sheets, comforters, and new pillows. I tentatively placed their furniture back in their room, and hung up their wall decorations because I really was not sure where the bed was going to go/fit best. I just needed to convince my kids that sleeping on the floor was fun. The boys came home, they looked at the new paint job, liked the wall decorations, and loved the fact they could very easily jump on their new mattresses on the floor. They had all the bedding off in seconds, and had a fort built out of the mattresses within minutes. Boys. They did not like their mattresses on the floor, and ended up crawling in bed with me in the middle of the night. Two 5-year olds and an adult sharing a queen is not recommended...I ended up taking Monday off of work so I could get the beds set up before Monday night - I did not want to spend another night trying to keep the boys in their beds on the floor. I read the reviews for this bed that said it took 5-6 hours to set up the beds, and that had me concerned. The beds arrived at 2pm, and I had a 530pm event to attend. Fortunately, my Dad was my babysitter for the evening. Dad came over, and took charge. I basically watched him set up the beds. The pieces arrived in good shape, but they are poorly labeled. The pieces are pretty obvious as to what purpose they serve, but having some instruction to help figure out the directionality of the pieces would be helpful for quicker set-up. My Dad had the first bed set up quickly, but we had issues with the top bunk. One of the pre-drilled holes in the frame was off, and it did not line up. We spent probably an hour trying different ways of getting the long screw in the hole, trying to line up with the little piece that it is supposed to connect with. He tried, I tried, but eventually we just had to alter the existing hole enough to make it work. I left for my event, and enjoyed more wine while I hoped that I would not be spending another night sleeping with two sweaty 5-year-olds. I return home, the beds are done, and decorated (thanks, Mom), and the boys love them. I love them. They fit great in their room, and seem sturdy. Other commenters have mentioned a chemical smell, but all I smell is painted wood/new furniture smell. Nothing overpowering or irritating - and I have a very sensitive nose. I think I may purchase some reinforcing connectors for where the two beds connect with each other. As of now, the top bunk sits on the bottom bunk with a long pin holding them together - the top bunk lifts off real easily. My concern is a rambunctious 5 year old kicking the top bunk from the bottom bunk to irritate his brother, and lifting the bed off the pin and having it crash down on the bottom bunk. Fortunately the top bunk is heavy, and his legs are too short right now to be able to do that, but if these beds last a few years it could be a possibility. Other reviews have mentioned slats breaking, and I will keep my eye out for that possibility. They seem sturdy though. There is not a lot of clearance between the bunks, but that should be expected when it is only 5 feet tall. There is enough room for them to sit up, and I can sit on the mattress and lean in for a hug and kiss. I have been on the top bunk, and I did not feel like the bed was going to break. I have been up there with a child, and the combined weight would be 160lbs, and it seemed fine. I wouldn't make a habit out of it though....To make a really long story short: I am happy with the purchase. The boys love the bed, and I like it too. It fits good in their little room, and looks nice. The shipping drama was a pain that would have been fine if the expected delivery date would have been ACCURATE! I would have gladly waited until the following weekend to follow through with my plans. I wasted a lot of time off work for nothing - It is a good thing that the beds arrived in good shape, and that I like them, because it eases the pain from the shipping fiasco. If my review has not been updated, you can assume the beds are still in good shape, and not broken. I will definitely update if they start falling apart.

This bunk bed looks great and is very nice quality. Assembly was easy and able to be done in a couple hours. There is room to store toys under the bed as well as plenty of room for the top bunk person to site up etc. This was a great option to save space in our children’s room!

We’ve had this bunk set for over three years and it has held up so well! Our boys are pretty hard on things and it still looks really nice. I was worried when we put a pretty decent dent/scratch on it while putting it together, but that’s probably the only significant mark on it after three years of everyday use!

I have to say i was thoroughly impressed with this set. I was expecting it to be mediocre at best because they were so affordable. however I really love them. the quality feels expensive. its very sturdy. It was super easy to put together. and i'm picky really picky with quality, especially if its not manufactured correctly. but everything was perfect, A+++ for finally finding a great product. especially these days.I only have one issue and that is the mattresses i ordered should have fit this frame and they do not. but that could be the mattresses i have yet to measure to see which one was inaccurate because i actually ordered mattresses that said they will fit this frame. I will have to update that if i ever measure them

This bed only took my husband and me about 3 hours to put together. I did most of it myself. My 3 and 5 year old love it. It is not very tall which is prefect for younger kids.

  • Diana

We've had this navy blue bunk bed for years and my boys love it. It's held up through them and a move. Really great value for the price.

Bought this bed for my sons almost 6 years ago. We started out using one of the bunks as a single bed for my oldest because my youngest wasn't ready to move out of his toddler bed yet. A year or two later, we added the second bunk. It's been fully assembled as a bunk bed since then, and it has held up wonderfully.I'm very glad that there are rails on the top bunk, because my kids toss and turn a lot. The ladder has held up well, as have the bed frames. The wood also looks great, except for the spot where the safety sticker was. It didn't come off easily or evenly, but I wouldn't deduct from my rating for that because this is a very sturdy bed at a great price.Note: I ordered the bed with the slanted ladder, not the straight/vertical one, but for some reason I'm not able to review that option.

Love the bunk bed, I ordered it in grey & the color is beautiful. The only issue I have is there is a HUGE warning label on the top headboard that is difficult to remove. I had to spray a mixture of vinegar & water (to remove sticky residue) & then use a putty knife to scrap it off. The manufacturer should’ve used an easy peel label.
