Bought this for my teenager son, he loved it, it was very well labeled and instructions are not hard to follow, needs two people during assembly. It took us 2.5 hours to assemble which is reasonable. Product is very sturdy. I like how the slats have screws, makes the bed more sturdy. Overall, satisfied with this purchase.
I spent more time than I care to admit searching and reading reviews on bunk beds. I knew we didn't want a metal one, because they tend to squeak. But my budget didn't really allow for a nice wooden set.I was nervous about ordering an item of this size through Amazon, but now that it's done, I'm thrilled with it. The instructions were better than most. It was well packaged and I found no damage or missing parts. It is solid, sturdy, quiet. Love the color. My boys are happy. It has great under bed space for storage.I do recommend a drill for the assembly, particularly when installing the slats. I also wished we had a hex set for the drill, it would have gone together much faster.Shipping was a bit slow. It took a full week to arrive, and came a couple of days past the estimated date via UPS.I highly recommend! And the Amazon price seems to be much better than the rest of the internet.
This bunk bed definitely has pros and cons. Pros: the shipping was more than a week ahead of schedule, it was all in one box, the scale is great for a small bedroom despite the bottom bunk not being on the floor. Cons: the box was very heavy/awkward/and damaged, the hardware pack was mislabeled making it initially appear there was not enough of certain parts, even after figuring out the hardware mislabeling, we discovered that we got a few dowels the wrong length and one long bolt that was cross threaded. All in all, the beds came together in a little under two hours, they look great and are very sturdy. I would just caution buyers that this could be very frustrating for someone who isn’t generally comfortable with putting things together with minimal instruction. If you need easy, this may or may not be for you.
I had my doubts about ordering this bed. 'Ready to assemble' furniture and I do not always see eye to eye. But the first thing that impressed me was the packaging. Every piece was lined with a protective wrap, no rubbing. Every square millimeter of paint on this bed is perfect out of the box.Next, every piece is labeled. And the instructions are very clear and list what pieces and how many connectors you'll need for each step. While it is helpful to have someone handing you the various bolts/screws/pieces, it could be done by a single person in 90 minutes or less if you keep organized. The bed comes together quickly and easily, everything is made with precision and there are no misaligned holes. The end product is extremely sturdy, I would not hesitate to use this for teens or college students. The slats for the actual mattress support are 3/4" plywood. While it's listed as a twin size, I found out one of the mattresses I had was a twin XL and it fit in without issue.Lastly, make sure you have a cordless screwdriver of some sort. Attempting this without one would be foolhardy. Or at least very time consuming.
I bought 2 of these bunk beds for my girls and absolutely love them! While assembling, I realized that there was a flaw in one of the steps on the ladder. I contacted the company, and a replacement ladder was shipped to me within a couple of days at no cost nor any hassle! The bed was quite easy to assemble and came together I'm a couple of hours. The parts and hardware are labeled well, and the instructions were clear. I live that there is ample space between the bottom and top for an average height person to sit comfortably without banging his/her head on the top bunk. And with no head or footboard, it's airy and you don't feel locked in. It also makes it easy to get in and out on any side.I would 100% recommend this bed and the Hillsdale company.
Easy to build (with help of 4 to hold up the pieces since they’re not two individual beds that you can then stack on top of the other as with other bunk beds I’ve had in the past. You’ll have to build it AS a bunk bed from the beginning). The planks are constantly falling out since they are not cut long enough to stretch from one side of the bed to the other. Overall, it’s a very unreliable bed that also shakes even with the screws put in tightly and every attempt made to save it was a failure.
Seems great so far my 12-year-old help me put it together took about an hour and a half. I wish there would’ve been more L-shaped tools in the package because no one can do it by themselves and they only give you one tool. The one tool was not well built so could only fit it in the notches using one end… Not easy but I had a tool set that we could also use. Seems great for the money!
It did take 3 of us to assemble, but we are senior citizens and putting them in a bunk room for our grandkids! They are awesome and I love them.
The bed was mostly easy to put together. Some parts were mislabeled, but we were able to figure it out. The box was delivered almost falling open, but no parts were missing. The bed is great, it’s bigger than what I thought it would be and our regular size twin mattresses leave a slight three inch gap at the bottom. The only bad thing about the bed is that it smells strongly of paint still. My kids had to sleep with the door open, all fans on, and I’m letting their room air out today. Hoping it dies down by tonight.
I’m 26 weeks pregnant and assembled this bunk with my 10 year old daughter! It was fairly simple to put together. I got a few pieces turned around requiring some additional time, but overall it took us about 2.5 hours. I would recommend laying out all the pieces alphabetically to check that you have all pieces first. I would also recommend an electric screwdriver/drill to attach the wood slats that hold the mattress up at the last step. They didn’t have Pre drilled holes for the slats to connect to, so that cut the time at least in half by using the drill.
