This was very easy for my husband to assemble and looks just as beautiful as in the photo. The espresso color matches our black-brown wooden furniture perfectly; it's a wonderful addition to our bedroom, and all the storage space it comes with (drawers in the front of the changer and shelving in the back) means not having to use any closet or dresser space for baby's things, and still having room for toys! The crib itself is very sturdy, but the changing table unfortunately won't support more than about 35 lbs of weight. Hopefully by then the little one is potty-trained anyway, but we're still going to err on the side of caution and stop using the top part of the storage compartment as a changer before then. The other issue we had with the changing station is that, as other reviewers have mentioned, the changing pad that comes with the crib is very hard and unpleasant, but it is very difficult to find a different pad to replace it that will actually fit on the changing table. Our solution was to simply "make" the Summer Infant Contoured Changing Pad (which I highly recommend -- it is very squishy and the covers are very soft and come in loads of colors) fit. With the bottom of the changing pad lined up with the bottom of the changing table (that little gap is too small for a changing pad to squish out of), we pushed the Summer Infant changing pad down so it was lying on the bottom of the changing table, which leaves about five inches extra in length curving upwards along the top. The result is basically a little elevation for the little one's head, like a gentle pillow. This works just fine for me, since I wasn't enthusiastic about baby potentially hitting his head on the bars in the back, and it still looks great.Overall these are such minor complaints compared to how awesome this crib is overall. You really can't beat the price for getting four children's beds, a dresser, a bookshelf, and a changing table all in one, especially with the quality with which it was designed. I spent months shopping around for just the right crib at just the right price and I am very, very happy with the result.

Our little one hasn't made her appearance yet, but we're really excited about this crib. It's very heavy, so unless you can handle getting it inside by yourself make sure you have someone lined up to help you the day it's being delivered. I got mine inside the door then opened it there and carried all the various pieces upstairs, which wasn't too bad. It just meant it had to be done on the day it showed up.As far as assembly, it took me around 2.5 hours to do it by myself. My wife offered moral support but that was about the limit. The instructions weren't always the best. There are a lot of pre-drilled holes in the frame so that the crib can be converted to the daybed, toddler bed, and then to the headboard/foot-board of a full size bed, so it was sometimes confusing which hole out of 3 you were supposed to be putting the bolt through. At the end of the day, though, if you were assembling it correctly then it made it obvious what screw went where. Two assembly points. First, during the assembly of the shelves, at one point it says you need to lay the whole dresser part on its side. This wasn't necessary, I put all the pieces in with it standing upright with no problem. Because I had all the pieces sitting around it, there was no way I could have tipped it over. Second, if possible, assemble it in the center of the room then move it against the wall. There are some screws that go in the back of it that were really difficult to get in without good access to all four sides of the crib.Pros:Very SturdyNice clean finished lookNice size changing table (with pad included)Pre-drilledCons:Not the best instructionsVery heavy/hard to moveLots of extra pieces to store for when you want to convert the bed to its other forms

Well let me be the first to say that this crib combo is well built the finish is really nice and is very sturdy came with a ton of hardware to put the thing together with and is well worth the money however on the pricey side it should last for years to come i haven't turned it into the other combinations of a bed but it should be just as nice anyone else expecting when they get it put together just put the extra parts in the closet like I did and in the future your set that was the good heres the bad it does take some time to assemble took me about 3hrs once I finally got it inside this thing is heavy and the directions are a little confusing you really need to pay attention on the little numbers on all the pieces because they don't interchange from both sides the manufacturer should make the instructions a little more detailed but if you are anyway mechanical inclined and have some basic hand tool knowledge you will be just fine assembling this thing that all being said we love it and is going to be all my little girl will need for a bed for years to come UpdateHas been over 2 years and this crib combo is still going strong my little girl loves it and has just started jumping on the bed I like it so much I bought my son the same thing just in a different color as of today 4/18/23 I just got the rails and a full size mattress and box springs for her to turn it into a full size and I found on Amazon some brackets that turn the full size rails into a queen that way am definitely going to get my money out of itConAnd it's not really a con the spring for the kids mattress has left my little girl still sleepy when she gets up in the morning so box spring is a must

I looked for a crib for many months before deciding on this one. With Amazon's free shipping and no sales tax it was the best deal on the web by far as well as the added benefit of free returns if purchased from a gift registry. This was pretty essential since buying blind on the web without seeing a product (especially one as large and expensive as this one) can end up being a terrible decision but Amazon took away that fear and has made the decision to make purchases from their site our "Go-to" move. Basically once again Amazon did exactly as they promised and the buying through them was pain free and easy as pie.As for the product itself, once I received the pieces and started assembling them with my husband, I knew I made the right decision going with this crib and the line itself. The crib is beautiful and with the attached changing table it makes our nursery (which is only a room about 10'x10') seem like it has a lot more space. I highly recommend this crib and changer specifically for those looking to save space with a changer that doesn't run length wise along the wall which obviously takes up a lot more space. The setup was also not too bad, we split the build into 2 days since we started late the first night, but overall only took about 2 hours going at a fairly leisurely pace. One of the negatives I have seen is that the side of the crib that is attached to the changing table right now would make it so that we wouldn't be able to separate the changing table from the crib until we plan to convert this into a full-size bed since the side of the changing table is what makes up the right side of the crib. That being said, in our personal situation we won't need to separate these two pieces until that time so the issue is moot but for others contemplating all of the options, this is one of the drawbacks I have discovered.Another slight negative comes with the changer specifically. After contemplating how I was going to be using the changer (e.g. needing easy access to wipes, diapers, baby powder, diaper rash cream, etc.) I noticed that the shelves that are located on the side of the changer might not make this the easiest setup. The openings aren't very tall and the space is really deep which is great for holding lots of items but making most too hard to reach when you have a squirmy baby on the changing table. However, I did find some great slide-out wire drawers from Bed Bath & Beyond and attached them to the top and middle shelves. I did leave the bottom one open in case I want to store some larger stuff, plus the bottom shelf has a lip at the bottom edge making this a little more difficult to find a slide-out drawer that could clear this lip. These are very nit-picky things but something to think about when you're putting this much money into an investment like this. And one last nit pick about the changer is that the space for the changing pad is smaller than almost every changing pad you can buy and the one that comes with the changer is super flimsy and thin. This made me go on a search for a pad that would fit the small space and provide a little more cushion for my little one. After searching for many hours on Amazon and finally moving onto another site, unsuccessfully also, I realized there are almost no changing pads out there that are the right size for this changer (the length head to toe is about 27" or 28"). Almost all changers are 30" at the shortest, one I found was 29" but was too wide, but nothing shorter than 29". After lots of going back and forth I decided on the LA Baby 4 Sided Changing Pad 30", White from Amazon. As shown in the title, IT IS 30" long, however I decided to try it and just cut off the length to fit the space on my changer since I would be putting a cover over it anyway. I just received that in the mail and decided to see if it would fit in the space on the changer before I cut it up and I was able to kind of just squish it in. I'm usually kind of a freak about not putting things into spaces they don't exactly fit into but this honestly works perfectly. It also makes it so that I don't have to screw the pad into the changer to make sure it doesn't move around, it just wedges tightly into the top space. So this negative is ultimately not a negative at all since I'm sure there are other changing pads you can order that fit your style, budget, desires, etc. that will also wedge into the space so don't worry!Overall giving this 4 stars since there are some things that could have been better but the VALUE is tremendous and the main reason this gets above average in my book.

  • Great fit, love the material and the colour was so pretty

Bought for my newborn nephew. It was quite easy to install and of great quality. Definitely recommend

This crib is absolutely beautiful. There were so many parts and it took us a total of around 4 hours split up into two days to get it fully together, but it was 100% worth it. I can’t wait to see how it holds up over the next 4-5 years.Side note: The screws that would usually come with stickers to cover them up did not come with the product : / but oh well! I’d buy again!

Built tough. This crib will last our family for generations to come.

I just finally got around to set up this crib as we're prepping the nursery, I was honestly very happy with the purchase when I got the deal based on the reviews I had seen before purchasing. However, when I set it up I was disappointed with all the scratches and damages on the wood pieces! I'm 5 weeks away from my due date and it would be almost impossible to take it apart now to exchange it which is very frustrating! The amount of visible scratches, dents and cracks on it honestly ridiculous!! The screws are also very visible, even the $40 cube storage I purchased came with screw covers so they don't look like eye sores and this one doesn't come with anything!! It looks bad!!! Also, it it's super easy to scratch and dent as it compressed wood but in the cheapest way possible!I'm very disappointed over all with the quality but the only thing that's making it ok is that it looks really nice, but I would definitely not buy again! I'd suggest if you ever buy it, check each individual piece before putting it together and throwing away the box🫤

We purchased our second Portofino (first time Espresso, second time white). We have had the espresso model for two years, and honestly once it is together this crib is beautiful and extremely solid. To compare, friends of ours gave us an old Davinci 4-in-1 that they had and the Stork Craft runs circles around it in terms of build and quality. The biggest con is that the most recent crib showed up in a box that looked like it had been through war. I was fully expecting that I was going to find most of the parts in box broken or missing, because when I drug it inside the house from my porch, parts were literally falling out of the box. UPS had propped it up against the house in such a way that the bottom was closed, most likely because they noticed the bottom was opening up. Amazingly, nothing was scratched or broken, and all parts were accounted for. Surely there must be a better way to ship these though. As other reviewers have stated, this is a major undertaking to put together if you don't have a lot of experience putting together furniture. This is mostly because of the changing table w/ drawers. You are literally putting together all of the drawers and supports. Once you have that part done, everything else pretty much goes into place. At times they make assumptions that you know what you're doing, and luckily a buddy of mine helped me put this together who did indeed know what he was doing. He could fill in the gaps when the directions were puzzling. Also, it's extremely heavy. 125lbs is a lot if you're just trying to get it off the porch. Once I had it in the door I opened the box and took all of the parts piece by piece up to the nursery. With both cribs there was NO ODOR. So if you're basing your purchasing decision on other reviews about odor, just know that I'm 2/2 getting a crib without odor. It must be an isolated issue. Perhaps if you get one too quickly from the factory it hasn't had time to air out? Also, no scratches after two years of use and abuse from a toddler on the Espresso model. Granted, our little guy never really did anything that would scratch it, and never chewed on the wood. I think it's an advantage that the front slopes outward, because it maybe helps prevent little ones from biting the edges. This is probably true for any crib, but when it's time to adjust the height of the mattress, be prepared for it to be a pain. The base of the mattress is a solid sheet of wood, so moving it up or down either requires two people or magic. It's better than the davinci I mentioned earlier though which had a metal/flimsy type of base, which is sagging from use. No such problem with the Stork Craft. One last note about the changing table. We have a toddler who quickly outgrew the length of the table. Attached tables like this can only be as deep as the crib itself, which can make it feel pretty small. Despite that, we still used it for a long time, his legs just hung over the edge. He didn't mind, and it wasn't a threat to his safety. Also, most third-party changing pads are too long. If you want a contoured, good luck. We were able to stuff the edges down into the gap in the changing table to make it work for a while, but eventually switched back to the factory pad.Despite the difficulty putting it together and the shipping issues, still 4/5 stars because these cribs have served us well and seem like they are going to last a long time.
